The 1st dune buggy golf cart prototype was recently part of the "Life on the Beach" exhibit at the Hilton Head Island Concours d' Elegance held on November 2nd and 3rd, 2013 at Port Royal Golf Club.
The HHI Motoring Festival chose to pay homage to the island it calls home with the exhibit, inspired by the island lifestyle and sponsored by Marriott Vacation Club. "Life on the Beach" is the fifth annual Life-themed exhibit on the Festival’s Motoring Midway. (Past themes include Life on the Road, Life on the Farm and Life in the Service.)
Since dune buggies were born for beach life, and ours is built on a golf cart chassis, we can't think of a better showcase than a beach life themed grouping of vehicles held at a picturesque golf course.
Besides a dune buggy golf cart, the beach life vehicles on display included a woody surf wagon, a tubular framed sand rail, a Mini Moke, a VW Thing, a Ducatti scrambler style motorcycle, and even an authentic Meyers Manx dune buggy. There was also an "On the Water" part of the display that included several vintage wooden boats of all sizes by Chris Craft, Riva, AristoCraft, Gar Wood and others.
